Fall Yoga Workshops and Classes

Happy Thanksgiving and Fall Solstice.

This fall I’ll be teaching some workshops in addition to regular classes. Please come join me to breathe, stretch, ground, strengthen and deepen your practice.

Introduction to Iyengar Yoga Workshop

Saturday November 5th, 2.30 –4.30 pm at Green Room Yoga.

$30, or $25 if you register by October 22.

In this workshop you will learn about the lineage of Iyengar yoga, and what makes it a unique and safe system. This short discussion will be followed by a sample class appropriate for all levels of yoga students. A great workshop to ask questions and work towards balance in your practice. I am currently deep in my studies to certify as an Iyengar yoga instructor. I will sit for my first assessment this winter and am excited to share with you the invaluable information I am learning in my program.


As well, for those who teach at Yyoga, I’ll be offering a Research and Development workshop for teachers and staff at Flow Yoga on November 2nd from 2-4pm.

At Green Room Yoga the small class size and progressive nature of a pre-registered class allows for a safe and supportive environment for deepening ones practice.

5:45-7:15pm Iyengar Level 1

Iyengar yoga is a systematic method of Hatha Yoga named after B.K.S. Iyengar of Pune, India, who is one of the foremost yoga masters in the world. The Iyengar method works on the principle of meditation in action. Practitioners concentrate closely on the movements in the yoga postures (asanas), bringing the body into balance by increasing mobility, stability, strength and alignment. At the same time, this intense concentration draws the attention inward, quieting and integrating mind and body. The hallmark of the Iyengar approach is the ability to adapt the poses to the needs and challenges of the individual student, making it appropriate for all ages and levels of fitness.

7:30-9:00pm Hatha Flow

This class in geared towards yoga students with some experience who would like to work on their strength, flexibility, inversions and alignment.

These are pre-register classes with some room for drop-ins. You can sign up for 4 or 7 classes in a session. If you are interested in attending contact alix@greenroomyoga.ca
